Stardew Valley Fiber Guide
Overview
Fiber is one of the most basic and essential resources in Stardew Valley. It is used in a wide variety of crafting recipes and is easily obtainable early in the game.
How to Obtain Fiber
Primary Sources
- Cutting Weeds: The most common source. Weeds appear on your farm and in the wild throughout all seasons.
- Cutting Grass: Using a Scythe on grass tufts can yield Fiber.
- The Mines: Weeds on mine levels can drop Fiber.
- Mutant Bug Lair: Located in the Sewers, this area is filled with weeds that drop Fiber.
Other Sources
- Recycling Machine: Putting a Newspaper into a Recycling Machine has a chance to yield 3 Fiber.
- Worm Bins: Produce Fiber along with Bait.
- Fiber Seeds: Craftable after completing the Community Center or Joja Warehouse, these seeds grow into plants that yield Fiber.

Farming Fiber
Fiber Seeds Strategy
After unlocking Fiber Seeds (post-Community Center or Joja), you can farm Fiber efficiently:
- Fiber Seeds grow in all seasons, including Winter.
- They do not require watering.
- Each plant yields 4-7 Fiber when harvested.
- This is the most reliable way to mass-produce Fiber.
Mutant Bug Lair
- Located in the Sewers (unlocked after donating 60 items to the Museum).
- Weeds here respawn daily, making it a great daily Fiber source.
Tips
- Always keep a stockpile of Fiber for crafting needs.
- Fiber is needed in large quantities for Junimo Huts and Warp Totems.
- Don’t sell Fiber directly; its sell price (1g) is negligible compared to its crafting value.
