Stardew Valley Fair Grange Display Guide
Overview
The Grange Display is a competition held during the Stardew Valley Fair on Tuesday, Fall 16. Players submit up to 9 items to be judged by Governor. Winning first place rewards 1,000 Star Tokens, which can be exchanged for rare prizes.
Scoring System
Your Grange Display is scored on a point-based system. To win first place, you need 90 or more points.
Base Points
- You start with 14 base points.
Category Bonuses
You gain points by placing items from diverse categories. Each unique category represented gives bonus points:
- 8 or more categories: +9 points
- 7 categories: +7 points
- 6 categories: +5 points
- 5 categories: +3 points
- 4 categories: +1 point
Item Quality Points
Each item is scored individually based on its quality and type:

Category Points per Item
Certain high-value items give bonus points in their categories:
- Animal Products (Milk, Eggs, Wool, etc.): Up to +5 points for high-quality large products
- Artisan Goods (Wine, Jelly, Honey, Cheese, etc.): Up to +5 points for high-value goods
- Cooking: Up to +5 points for high-quality dishes
- Fish: Up to +5 points for rare/legendary fish
- Foraging: Up to +5 points for high-quality foraged items
- Fruits: Up to +5 points
- Vegetables: Up to +5 points
- Minerals: Up to +5 points for rare gems and minerals
Penalty
- Empty slot: -1 point per empty slot (you should always fill all 9 slots)
Winning Strategy (90+ Points)
Recommended Items for Maximum Score
To reliably score 90+ points, include a diverse selection of high-quality items:
- Iridium Quality Legendary Fish (e.g., Crimsonfish, Angler, Legend, Glacierfish, Mutant Carp) — +8 points each
- Iridium Quality Animal Products (Large Milk, Large Egg, Rabbit’s Foot, Duck Feather) — +8 points
- High-Value Artisan Goods (Starfruit Wine, Ancient Fruit Wine, Truffle Oil) — category bonus + quality
- Iridium Quality Crops (Pumpkin, Melon, Cauliflower, Starfruit) — +8 points
- Rare Minerals (Prismatic Shard, Diamond, Ruby) — category bonus
- Cooked Dishes (Strange Bun, Seafoam Pudding, or high-quality recipes)
- Foraged Items (Purple Mushroom, Crystal Fruit in Fall)

Tips for Success
- Plan Ahead: Start saving high-quality items throughout the year.
- Diversify Categories: Cover as many categories as possible.
- Quality Over Quantity: Iridium and Gold quality items make a huge difference.
- Artisan Goods: Processed goods like Wine and Jelly often score higher than raw crops.
- Legendary Fish: If you have caught any legendary fish, they are excellent display items.
- Don’t Leave Slots Empty: Always fill all 9 slots to avoid penalties.
Rewards
- First Place (90+ points): 1,000 Star Tokens
- Second Place: 500 Star Tokens
- Third Place: 200 Star Tokens
- Fourth Place: 50 Star Tokens
Star Tokens can be exchanged for prizes at the Fair’s token shop, including the rare Stardrop (2,000 tokens) and exclusive furniture.
