The Feast of the Winter Star is a heartwarming winter festival in Stardew Valley where the townsfolk gather in Pelican Town for a secret gift exchange, celebrating community and generosity.

- Date: Winter 25
- Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Entry: Enter Pelican Town between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM to participate
Location
Pelican Town Square — The center of town is decorated with festive winter decorations, lights, and a large tree.
How to Participate
- Travel to Pelican Town during festival hours.
- One week before the festival (Winter 18), you will receive a letter telling you who your secret gift recipient is.
- Bring a gift that your recipient will love.
- During the festival, give your gift to your assigned recipient.
- Another villager will also give you a gift in return!
Secret Gift Exchange Mechanics
Before the Festival
- On Winter 18, check your mailbox for a letter revealing your secret gift recipient.
- The recipient is randomly selected from villagers you have met.
- Choose a gift that your recipient loves for maximum friendship gain.
During the Festival
- Find your secret recipient in the town square.
- Give them the gift you prepared.
- You will receive a gift from another random villager.
Friendship Boost
- Giving a loved gift to your secret recipient: +500 friendship points
- Giving a liked gift: +300 friendship points
- Giving a neutral gift: +100 friendship points
- Giving a disliked/hated gift: No bonus or penalty (but don’t be a Grinch!)
Possible Gifts You Can Receive
The gift you receive depends on who is assigned as your secret giver. Common gifts include:
- Universal gifts: Coal, Wood, Stone, or basic resources (from less wealthy villagers)
- Quality items: Artisan goods, cooked dishes, or foraged items
- Rare items: Sometimes you may receive something valuable or unique
Activities
- Participate in the secret gift exchange
- Socialize with all villagers
- Enjoy the festive winter decorations
- Admire the large decorated tree in the town square
Tips
- Check the wiki: Look up your recipient’s loved gifts before the festival.
- Plan ahead: Stock up on universally loved items (like Prismatic Shard, Rabbit’s Foot, or Pearl) as emergency gifts.
- Easy loved gifts: Most villagers love Prismatic Shards, Rabbit’s Foot, Pearl, Magic Rock Candy, or Golden Pumpkin.
- Personalized gifts: If you know your recipient well, give them a specific loved item for extra thoughtfulness.
- Talk to everyone: Don’t forget to chat with all villagers for standard friendship gains.
Notes
- The festival ends automatically at 2:00 PM, and you return to the farm at 10:00 PM.
- Time is paused during the festival.
- You cannot participate in the gift exchange if you do not attend the festival.
- If you are married, your spouse may have special dialogue during this festival.
- The Feast of the Winter Star is the last major festival of the year before the New Year.
