Stardew Valley Heavy Furnace Guide
Introduction
The Heavy Furnace is a large smelting device added in Stardew Valley 1.6 that can smelt multiple ores at once, greatly improving smelting efficiency.
Unlock Requirements
- Recipe unlocked after reaching Mining Level 9
Crafting Materials
- Furnace x2
- Iron Bar x3
- Refined Quartz x50
Functionality
- Can place 25 ores at once for bulk smelting
- Consumes 1 coal per 5 ores smelted
- Smelting time is 5x that of a regular furnace (but efficiency is greatly improved)
- Produces corresponding metal bars with a small chance of extra output

Usage Tips
- Smelt in bulk after mine expeditions to save time and coal
- Use with a large coal reserve to avoid running out mid-process
- Ideal for mid-to-late game large-scale farm construction metal needs
Notes
- Heavy Furnace cannot smelt quartz or fire quartz
- Requires more space to place than a regular furnace
