Stardew Valley Solar Panel Guide
Introduction
The Solar Panel is a device introduced in Stardew Valley 1.5 that uses sunlight to automatically produce Battery Packs, an important automated resource production device in the mid-to-late game.
Unlock Requirements
- Complete Caroline’s special order “Island Ingredients” to obtain the recipe.
- Requires unlocking Ginger Island to receive this order.
Crafting Materials
- Refined Quartz x10
- Iron Bar x5
- Gold Bar x5
Function
- Produces 1 Battery Pack every 7 sunny days.
- Only accumulates progress on sunny days; rainy/thundery/snowy days do not count.
- Displays a completion animation when producing, and can be collected directly.
- Does not require any input materials; fully automated.
Battery Pack Uses
Battery Packs are an important resource in the game with a wide range of uses:
- Crafting Iridium Sprinkler
- Crafting Crystalarium
- Crafting Slime Egg-Press
- Building Obelisks
- Completing various quests and building upgrades
Usage Tips
- Place Solar Panels on Ginger Island, as it is mostly sunny there, resulting in higher efficiency.
- Build multiple Solar Panels in batches for a steady supply of Battery Packs.
- Use in conjunction with Lightning Rods to obtain Battery Packs on rainy days as well.
Notes
- Solar Panels do not work indoors.
- Winter has fewer sunny days, so production speed will decrease.
- Each Solar Panel calculates time independently.
