Stardew Valley Weapons Guide
Weapons are essential for combat in the Mines, Skull Cavern, and Volcano Dungeon. There are four weapon types: Swords, Clubs, Daggers, and Slingshots.
Weapon Types
Swords
- Attack Speed: Medium
- Special Move: Block - Reduces damage taken by 0.8x and reflects projectiles
- Best For: Balanced combat, defensive play
- Average Stats: Moderate damage, moderate speed
Clubs
- Attack Speed: Slow
- Special Move: Smash - Deals heavy damage in a wide area and can knock back enemies
- Best For: High damage, crowd control
- Average Stats: High damage, slow speed, high knockback
Daggers
- Attack Speed: Fast
- Special Move: Rapid Stab - Quickly strikes multiple times in succession
- Best For: Fast attacks, critical hits
- Average Stats: Low damage, very fast speed, high critical chance
Slingshots
- Attack Speed: Varies by ammo
- Special Move: None
- Best For: Ranged combat
- Average Stats: Depends on ammo type
Weapon Stats Explained
- Damage: The range of damage dealt per hit (min-max)
- Speed: How fast the weapon attacks (negative = slower, positive = faster)
- Crit. Chance: Base percentage chance for a critical hit
- Crit. Power: Multiplier applied to critical hit damage
- Weight: Affects knockback (higher = more knockback)
- Defense: Reduces damage taken (only on some weapons)
- Immunity: Reduces debuff duration (only on some weapons)

Galaxy Sword
- Damage: 60-80
- Speed: +4

- Notes: One of the best all-around weapons; required to obtain the other Galaxy weapons
Infinity Blade
- Damage: 80-100
- Speed: +4
- Source: Forge the Galaxy Sword at the Volcano Forge with 3 Galaxy Souls and 60 Cinder Shards
- Notes: The ultimate sword; highest damage and excellent speed
Dwarf Sword
- Damage: 65-75

- Notes: Excellent mid-to-late game option
Lava Katana
- Damage: 55-64
- Speed: +3
- Defense: +3
- Crit. Chance: +25%

- Notes: Great defensive sword with high crit chance
Obsidian Edge
- Damage: 30-45
- Speed: -1
- Crit. Chance: +10%

- Notes: Excellent early-game sword

Special Weapon Effects
Enchantments (Volcano Forge)
Weapons can be enchanted with various effects:
- Vampiric: Chance to heal on kill
- Crusader: Bonus damage to mummies/slimes, prevents mummy revival
- Bug Killer: Double damage to bugs
- Haymaker: Extra fiber/hay from weeds
- Magic: Chance to restore energy on kill
- Artful: 50% cooldown reduction on special moves
Forging
At the Volcano Forge, you can:
- Enchant weapons (1 Prismatic Shard + 20 Cinder Shards)
- Combine rings (20 Cinder Shards)
- Upgrade Galaxy weapons to Infinity weapons (Galaxy Souls + Cinder Shards)
