Stardew Valley Dehydrator Guide

Introduction

Dehydrator is a crafting station added in Stardew Valley 1.6. It can dehydrate and dry fruits and mushrooms into Dried Fruit and Dried Mushrooms, which have higher sell prices and different uses.

Acquisition

  • Crafting: Recipe unlocked after reaching certain conditions
  • Recipe Materials:
    • Wood x 30
    • Stone x 20
    • Moss x 30
    • Hardwood x 5

Usage

  1. Place Dehydrator on the farm
  2. Interact with Dehydrator to open interface
  3. Put in fruits or mushrooms
  4. Wait for processing to complete (takes some time)
  5. Remove finished Dried Fruit or Dried Mushrooms

Processable Items

Fruits

  • Any fruit can be put into Dehydrator
  • Including: Apple, Cherry, Peach, Plum, Orange, Pomegranate, and other tree fruits
  • Also including: Strawberry, Blueberry, Cranberry, and other berries
  • And: Ancient Fruit, Starfruit, and other special crops

Mushrooms

  • Common Mushroom
  • Red Mushroom
  • Purple Mushroom
  • Chanterelle
  • Morel

Processing Results

  • Dried Fruit: Product after fruit dehydration, sell price increased
  • Dried Mushrooms: Product after mushroom dehydration, sell price increased

Processing Time

  • Processing takes some time (usually one game day or less)
  • Processing time is not affected by season or weather

Sell Price Calculation

  • Dried Fruit and Dried Mushroom sell prices are based on raw material base sell prices
  • Usually processed sell price is 2-3 times higher than raw material
  • Specific sell price depends on raw material type and quality

Notes

  • Can only process one type of item at a time
  • Cannot cancel after putting in item (until processing is complete)
  • Processed item quality is uniform (not affected by raw material quality)
  • Can place multiple Dehydrators for simultaneous processing

Strategy Tips

  • For large quantities of fruits (such as Blueberries, Cranberries), Dehydrator is a good processing choice
  • Compared to brewing (Keg) and pickling (Preserves Jar), Dehydrator processing time is shorter
  • Suitable for processing mushrooms that cannot be brewed or pickled
  • Establish a processing area on the farm, centrally placing Dehydrators, Kegs, and Preserves Jars
