Stardew Valley Mushroom Log Guide
Introduction
The Mushroom Log is a craftable item in Stardew Valley. When placed near trees, it periodically produces various mushrooms, providing a stable mushroom source.
How to Obtain
- Crafting: Recipe unlocked at Foraging Level 4
- Recipe Materials:
- Hardwood x 10
- Moss x 10
How to Craft
- Raise Foraging skill to Level 4
- Collect required materials (Hardwood and Moss)
- Open crafting menu (press E key)
- Select Mushroom Log to craft
How to Use
- Place the Mushroom Log on the farm
- Ensure there are trees nearby (any type of tree works)
- After a period of time, the Mushroom Log will automatically produce mushrooms
- Interact with the Mushroom Log to collect mushrooms
Output Items
The Mushroom Log can produce the following mushrooms:
- Common Mushroom: Most common output
- Morel: Spring exclusive
- Chanterelle: Fall exclusive
- Red Mushroom: Has a chance to produce
- Purple Mushroom: Rare output
Output Mechanics
- Output Frequency: Produces every few days
- Output Quantity: 1-3 mushrooms per production
- Influencing Factors: Number and type of surrounding trees may affect output
- Seasonal Effect: Certain mushrooms only produce in specific seasons
Notes
- Needs to be placed near trees to work
- Does not require watering or maintenance
- Can still produce mushrooms in Winter
- Output is not affected by weather
- Can place multiple Mushroom Logs
Strategy Suggestions
- Concentrate Mushroom Logs at the edge of the farm or forest areas
- Keep surrounding trees unchopped to maintain output
- For crafting and cooking recipes that require large amounts of mushrooms, recommend crafting multiple Mushroom Logs
- Purple Mushroom is a rare output, can be used to craft Life Elixir or as gifts
