Stardew Valley Ginger Island Fish Guide
Ginger Island is a tropical paradise introduced in version 1.5, accessible after repairing Willy’s boat. Unlike the main valley, season does not affect which fish can be caught on Ginger Island - all island fish are available year-round!
How to Access Ginger Island
- Complete the Community Center or Joja Warehouse
- Receive Willy’s letter about the boat repair
- Gather materials: 200 Hardwood, 5 Battery Packs, 5 Iridium Bars
- Wait for the boat repair cutscene
- Pay 1,000g per trip to the island

A brightly colored tropical fish popular in aquariums. Can be used to trade for an Oceanic Rug at the Island Trader (3 Blue Discus on Saturdays).

An aggressive, predatory fish with venomous spines. Can be traded for a Tropical Chair at the Island Trader (1 Lionfish on even days).

Despite having a toxic stinger, these fish are shy and prefer to avoid humans. The Pirate Cove is the only location in the game where Stingrays can be caught. Can be traded for Mahogany Seeds at the Island Trader.
How to access Pirate Cove:
- Build the Island Beach Resort (20 Golden Walnuts)
- Enter through the hidden entrance east of the star-shaped tide pool

- Quests: 7 Cinder Shards, then 1 Dragon Tooth
- Special outputs: Magma Cap, Cinder Shard, Dragon Tooth, Battery Pack

- Season Doesn’t Matter - All fish are available year-round
- Bring Bait - The island has many fishing spots, so come prepared
- Unlock Pirate Cove First - Stingrays are exclusive there and valuable
- Check the Island Trader - Lionfish and Blue Discus can be traded for unique furniture
- Fish Pond Opportunities - Island fish have unique pond outputs like Golden Coconuts and Battery Packs
- Tropical Fish Special Order - Willy may request 5 of each island fish for a special order quest
