Island Farm Guide
The Island Farm is the most important additional planting area in Stardew Valley. The biggest difference from the mainland farm is that it is not limited by season and can grow any crop year-round.
Unlock Conditions
- Complete the Community Center or the Joja Community Development Form
- Receive a letter from Willy, then go to the back room of the Fish Shop and spend 200 Hardwood + 5 Battery Packs + 5 Iridium Bars to repair the boat
- Spend 1,000g to buy a boat ticket to Ginger Island
- Follow Leo into the jungle; after interacting in Leoβs Hut, the turtle automatically moves (unlocks the north)
- Give the parrot next to the blocking turtle 10 Golden Walnuts to scare it away

No season restriction and no crows are the Island Farmβs biggest advantages.

Use Golden Walnuts to upgrade farm facilities:

The Farm Obelisk is very practical for quickly traveling between the mainland and Ginger Island.
Gourmand Frog Quest
After building the farmhouse, the Gourmand Frog appears and sequentially asks you to grow 3 crops.
Important: Do not harvest crops immediately when they mature! Talk to the frog first to show the crop and receive the reward, then harvest it yourself after receiving the reward.
Phase 1: Melon

- Grow Melon, wait for the frog to harvest after maturity
- Reward: 5 Golden Walnuts
Phase 2: Wheat
- Frog description: βThe long yellow thing swaying in the windβ
- Grow Wheat, wait for the frog to harvest after maturity

Phase 3: Garlic

Since there is no season restriction, the following high-value crops are recommended:

Ginger Island West Tillable Area
In addition to the main farm, the west side of Ginger Island also has tillable areas:
- About 51 tiles along the west shore river
- Several scattered plots
- Can plant fruit trees
Useful Tips
- The Island Farm is the best place to grow Ancient Fruit (no season limit, regrows)
- No Scarecrows needed, saving a lot of space and resources
- Prioritize upgrading the farmhouse and obelisk
- Do not harvest Gourmand Frog quest crops after maturity, or you will need to replant
- Pair with sprinklers and Kegs for fully automated income
- After 1.6 update, Perfection Waiver can be purchased at the Dig Site mushroom cave
