Mountain Lake Guide
Overview
The Mountain Lake area is located north of Pelican Town and is one of the most important regions in Stardew Valley. It contains key locations including the entrance to the Mines, the Quarry, Robinโs Carpenter Shop, and Linusโs tent.
Key Locations
The Mines
- Located in the northeast part of the mountain.
- Contains 120 floors with increasing difficulty.
- Source of ores (copper, iron, gold, iridium), gems, and geodes.
- Reaching floor 120 unlocks the Skull Cavern in the Calico Desert.
- The Mines reset daily, allowing repeated farming of early floors.
Quarry
- Unlocked after completing the Bridge Repair bundle (Crafts Room) or Joja equivalent.
- Contains large rocks, ore nodes, and gem nodes.
- Rocks and nodes respawn daily.
- A great source of stone, ore, and coal.
Robinโs Carpenter Shop
- Open most days from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closed Tuesdays).
- Robin sells building upgrades, farm buildings, and furniture.
- Key purchases include:
- House upgrades (kitchen, nursery, cellar)
- Farm buildings (barn, coop, silo, well, etc.)
- Wood and stone (at a markup)
Linusโs Tent
- Home of Linus, a homeless villager who lives in a tent.
- Linus is a forager who loves nature.
- Befriending him unlocks unique recipes and dialogue.
- He teaches the player the Sashimi recipe at 3 hearts.
The Adventurerโs Guild
- Located east of the Mines entrance.
- Run by Marlon and Gil.
- Sells weapons, boots, and rings.
- Monster eradication goals reward unique items.
Fishing
The Mountain Lake contains a variety of fish:
- Largemouth Bass (common)
- Carp
- Sturgeon (winter only, valuable for caviar)
- Legend (spring, rainy days only - one of the five legendary fish)
Tips
- Visit the Mines as soon as possible to gather ore and upgrade tools.
- The Quarry is excellent for passive resource gathering.
- Bring gifts for Linus (he loves coconuts, cactus fruit, and yams).
- Check the Mountain Lake on rainy spring days to catch the Legend fish.
