Geography

  • The Backwoods lies immediately north of the farm.
  • To the north, it connects to the Railroad (after unlocking).
  • It is a relatively small map with trees, stumps, and a small pond.

Activities

Foraging

  • Various seasonal forageables can spawn here.
  • Trees and stumps provide wood and hardwood.
  • Check regularly for seasonal wild plants.

Fishing

  • The pond in the Backwoods contains fish.
  • Available fish depend on the season and time of day.
  • Common catches include basic river/lake fish.

Hardwood

  • Stumps in the Backwoods respawn and provide hardwood.
  • Useful early game before access to the Secret Woods.

Railroad Access

  • The Railroad is blocked by a landslide initially.
  • Complete the Boiler Room bundles (Community Center) or the Joja equivalent to unlock it.
  • The Railroad contains unique forageables, the Spa, and the train passing event.

Tips

  • Collect hardwood from stumps daily.
  • The pond is a convenient early fishing spot close to home.
  • Check the Railroad area after unlocking for extra foraging opportunities.
