Stardew Valley Mushroom Tree Seed Guide

Overview

Mushroom Tree Seeds were introduced in Stardew Valley 1.6. They allow players to manually plant and grow Mushroom Trees, which were previously only obtainable through rare random events.

How to Obtain Mushroom Tree Seeds

Mushroom Tree Seeds can be obtained from the following sources:

  • Mushroom Trees: Shaking or chopping down existing Mushroom Trees has a chance to drop Mushroom Tree Seeds.
  • Mushroom Tree Stumps: Left behind when a Mushroom Tree is chopped down; may produce seeds over time.
  • The Farm: If a Mushroom Tree spreads, the new sapling may yield a seed when shaken.

How to Grow a Mushroom Tree

  1. Select the Mushroom Tree Seed in your inventory.
  2. Plant it on your farm in an empty tile, similar to planting regular tree seeds.
  3. Mushroom Trees grow through 5 stages over time, just like regular trees.
  4. They do not require watering.
  5. They will only grow if the 8 surrounding tiles are clear.

Mushroom Tree Behavior

  • Seasons: Mushroom Trees can grow in Spring, Summer, and Fall. They will not grow in Winter.
  • Spreading: Once fully grown, Mushroom Trees can spread to adjacent empty tiles, creating new Mushroom Trees.
  • Shaking: Shaking a fully grown Mushroom Tree may drop mushrooms (Common Mushroom, Red Mushroom, Purple Mushroom, or Chanterelle).
  • Tappers: You can place a Tapper on a Mushroom Tree to produce:
    • Common Mushroom
    • Red Mushroom
    • Purple Mushroom
    • Chanterelle
