Skull Cavern Guide

The Skull Cavern is the most dangerous and rewarding location in Stardew Valley. Located in the northwest corner of the Calico Desert, it is an infinite, no-elevator mine filled with dangerous monsters, rare ores, and valuable treasure. This guide covers everything you need to know: how to unlock it, how to descend efficiently, what monsters to expect at each depth, optimal food and buff combos, and the best gear loadouts at every stage of progression.
How to Unlock
- Reach floor 120 of the regular Mines to obtain the Skull Key. The key drops from the chest on floor 120.
- Repair the Bus Stop by completing all Vault bundles in the Community Center (5,000g bundles totaling 40,000g) or paying Joja Mart for the Bus Stop development project (40,000g).
- Take the bus to the Calico Desert for a 500g fare. The bus runs from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Head to the northwest corner of the desert and use the Skull Key on the entrance to unlock the Skull Cavern permanently.
Early Access Tips
If you want to reach the Skull Cavern as early as possible, focus on descending the regular Mines quickly. Use the elevator to resume from your deepest floor. Bring stone for staircases and bombs for faster descent. With good planning, you can reach floor 120 and obtain the Skull Key by mid-Spring in Year 1. The bus repair is the bigger bottleneck — you need either 40,000g for Joja or to complete multiple Community Center bundles.
Basic Information
- Location: Northwest corner of the Calico Desert
- Floors: Infinite (no elevator, always start from floor 1)
- Time Limit: Pass out at 2:00 AM, losing up to 2,500g and some items (reduced with the Museum membership)
- Ladder Mechanics: Ladders appear when you break rocks, kill monsters, or use staircases/bombs
- Danger Level: Each ladder can drop 1-3 floors at random. Deeper floors have a higher chance of skipping multiple floors at once.
- Desert Warp Totem: Crafted from 3 Coconut + 1 Cactus Fruit, warps you directly to the desert (saves bus fare and time)
- Return Scepter (Enchanted Grove completion reward): Warps you directly to the farm from anywhere
Monsters by Floor Range
Monster types in the Skull Cavern change based on your current floor depth. Here is a detailed breakdown of every monster you will encounter, organized by floor range.
Floors 1-29 (Shallow Levels)
These floors are the easiest and most similar to the upper Mines. They are a good warmup but contain very little valuable ore.
| Monster | HP | Damage | Defense | Special Abilities | Drops |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Green Slime | 14 | 6 | 0 | Can split into smaller slimes when killed | Slime, Cave Carrot (rare) |
| Bug | 18 | 8 | 2 | Swift movement, erratic pathing | Bug Meat |
| Cave Fly | 20 | 10 | 0 | Flies around erratically, hard to hit | Bug Meat |
| Grub | 26 | 5 | 0 | Low damage but high HP for early floors | Bug Meat |
| Rock Crab | 21 | 8 | 4 | Disguises as a stone, ambushes when you approach | Stone, Crab Cake (rare) |
| Duggy | 28 | 10 | 0 | Burrows underground and attacks from below, hard to hit | Copper Ore, Iron Ore, Gold Ore (rare) |
Strategy: These floors are trivial with any mid-game weapon. Focus on breaking rocks to find ladders and descending quickly. Do not waste time fighting monsters unless they are in your way.
Floors 30-39 (Mid Levels)
Monsters become significantly more dangerous here. Serpents and Shadow Brutes can deal serious damage if you are not well-equipped.
| Monster | HP | Damage | Defense | Special Abilities | Drops |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dust Sprite | 34 | 12 | 0 | Swarms in groups, can be overwhelming in numbers | Solar Essence, Cave Carrot |
| Serpent | 70 | 23 | 2 | Fast, can appear on any floor; drops Omni Geode | Solar Essence, Snake Vertebrae, Omni Geode |
| Shadow Brute | 60 | 25 | 5 | Slow but very tanky for mid-levels | Shadow Essence, Battery Pack |
| Shadow Shaman | 50 | 15 | 0 | Can buff other shadow creatures, increasing their defense | Shadow Essence, Battery Pack |
Strategy: Serpents are the most dangerous monster in this range due to their speed and damage. Kill them quickly before they overwhelm you. Shadow Shamans should be prioritized because their buffs make other shadow enemies much harder to kill. Use your weapon’s special attack to clear groups.
Floors 40-49 (Transition Levels)
These floors introduce Carbon Ghosts alongside the existing mid-level monsters. The difficulty ramps up noticeably.
| Monster | HP | Damage | Defense | Special Abilities | Drops |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| All monsters from 30-39 | - | - | - | See above | See above |
| Carbon Ghost | 65 | 30 | 5 | Ghosts phase through walls, can be hard to hit | Ghostly Essence, Battery Pack, Iridium Ore (very rare) |
Strategy: Carbon Ghosts phase through walls and can attack you from unexpected angles. Use a weapon with a wide swing arc or area-of-effect enchantment. The Galaxy Sword’s spin attack is excellent for hitting ghosts as they pass through walls. Bring food for health restoration.
Floors 50-79 (Deep Levels)
This is where the Skull Cavern becomes truly dangerous. Mummies and Lava Lurks join the roster, and Iridium Ore starts appearing with increasing frequency.
| Monster | HP | Damage | Defense | Special Abilities | Drops |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| All previous monsters | - | - | - | See above | See above |
| Mummy | 125 | 30 | 5 | Revives after being knocked down unless destroyed with a bomb or Crusader enchantment | Solar Essence, Cloth, Iridium Ore (rare) |
| Lava Lurk | 200 | 35 | 5 | Spits lava projectiles, emerges from lava pools | Magma Cap, Iridium Ore |
| Pepper Rex | 350 | 40 | 10 | Very high damage, extremely tanky; appears on Pepper Rex floors | Dinosaur Egg (rare) |
Strategy: Mummies are the signature enemy of this range. When you knock a Mummy down, it will revive after a few seconds unless you destroy the body. Use bombs (Cherry Bomb, Mega Bomb) to destroy Mummy bodies, or use a weapon with the Crusader enchantment which kills undead instantly. Pepper Rex has enormous HP and damage — avoid fighting it unless you have strong gear, or use bombs to damage it safely from a distance.
Floors 80-119 (Very Deep Levels)
Iridium Bats and Iridium Golems begin appearing here. Monster density increases significantly, and the floors become genuinely dangerous even for well-equipped players.
| Monster | HP | Damage | Defense | Special Abilities | Drops |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| All previous monsters | - | - | - | See above, Mummies become more common | See above |
| Iridium Bat | 250 | 30 | 5 | Extremely fast, very hard to hit; drops Iridium Ore | Bat Wing, Iridium Ore |
| Iridium Golem | 400 | 45 | 15 | Massive HP and defense; slow but devastating attacks | Iridium Ore, Battery Pack |
| Shadow Sniper | 120 | 35 | 2 | Ranged attacks from a distance; high accuracy | Shadow Essence, Omni Geode |
| Serpent (more common) | 70 | 23 | 2 | Appears more frequently on these floors | Solar Essence, Snake Vertebrae, Omni Geode |
Strategy: Iridium Bats are one of the most frustrating enemies in the game. They move extremely fast and can be nearly impossible to hit with slow weapons. Use fast-swinging weapons or weapons with the Haymaker or Vampiric enchantment. Iridium Golems are slow but hit incredibly hard — use bombs to soften them up and attack from a distance. Shadow Snipers deal high damage from range and should be killed quickly.
Floors 120+ (Deepest Levels)
These are the most dangerous floors in the game. Monster density is at its peak, and nearly every floor is infested with dangerous enemies. Iridium Ore is abundant.
| Monster | HP | Damage | Defense | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| All deep-level monsters | - | - | - | All monsters from previous ranges appear |
| Royal Serpent | 300 | 15 | 10 | Rare variant of Serpent; much higher HP and defense; drops Void Essence |
| Mummies | 125 | 30 | 5 | Extremely common on deep floors |
| Iridium Bats | 250 | 30 | 5 | Very common, appear in swarms |
| Iridium Golems | 400 | 45 | 15 | Common, often appear in pairs |
Special Monster: Royal Serpent
The Royal Serpent is a rare, purple variant of the Serpent that can appear on any floor but becomes more common on deeper floors. It is visually distinct with a purple coloration and is significantly more dangerous than a regular Serpent.
| Stat | Regular Serpent | Royal Serpent |
|---|---|---|
| HP | 70 | 300 |
| Damage | 23 | 15 (but faster) |
| Defense | 2 | 10 |
| Special | Drops Omni Geode | Drops Void Essence |
| Spawn Rate | Any floor, common on deep floors | Rare, any floor, slightly more common deep |
Strategy: Royal Serpents have very high HP but deal less damage per hit than regular Serpents. Their high defense makes them take a while to kill with weak weapons. Prioritize them only if they are blocking your path.
Iridium Ore Distribution
Iridium Ore is the primary reason players visit the Skull Cavern. Its spawn rate increases dramatically with floor depth. Understanding the distribution helps you decide when to start mining versus when to keep descending.
Iridium Node Spawn Rates by Floor
| Floor Range | Iridium Node Frequency | Iridium Nodes per Floor (avg) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1-29 | Very Rare | 0-0.5 | Almost never worth stopping to mine |
| 30-39 | Rare | 0.5-1 | Occasionally appears, but not worth targeting |
| 40-49 | Uncommon | 1-2 | Starts appearing with some regularity |
| 50-79 | Moderate | 2-4 | Iridium nodes become a reliable source |
| 80-119 | Common | 4-8 | Iridium nodes appear frequently |
| 120-169 | Very Common | 8-12 | Dense iridium, primary mining target |
| 170+ | Abundant | 12-16 | Floors are packed with Iridium nodes |
Special Ore Nodes
| Node Type | Floor Range | HP | Drop | Special |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iridium Node | 50+ | 8 hits (Gold Pickaxe) | 1-3 Iridium Ore, 10% chance for Geode | 3.5% chance to drop a Prismatic Shard |
| Mystic Stone | 100+ | 8 hits (Gold Pickaxe) | 1-3 Iridium Ore, 1 Omni Geode guaranteed | 25% chance to drop a Prismatic Shard |
| Magma Geode Node | Any (mine shafts) | 3 hits | 1 Magma Geode | Can contain Iridium Ore, Prismatic Shard, or other rare items |
Mining Efficiency by Floor
The question of “when should I start mining” depends on your goals:
| Goal | Recommended Minimum Floor |
|---|---|
| Quick Iridium Ore (any amount) | Floor 50+ |
| Efficient Iridium farming | Floor 80+ |
| Prismatic Shard hunting | Floor 100+ (Mystic Stones) |
| Maximum Iridium per minute | Floor 120+ |
| Casual descent for loot | Floor 50+ (stop when you find good nodes) |
Iridium from Monsters
Several monsters in the Skull Cavern also drop Iridium Ore, providing a supplemental source beyond mining:
| Monster | Iridium Ore Drop Chance | Average Iridium per Kill |
|---|---|---|
| Iridium Bat | ~10% | 0.1 |
| Iridium Crab | ~10% | 0.1 |
| Purple Slime | ~10% | 0.1 |
| Mummy | ~5% | 0.05 |
| Lava Lurk | ~5% | 0.05 |
| Iridium Golem | ~20% | 0.2 |
Killing monsters while descending provides a steady trickle of Iridium Ore even when you are focused on finding ladders.
Staircase Strategy
Staircases are the single most important item for efficient Skull Cavern runs. A single staircase instantly creates a ladder to the next floor, allowing you to bypass dangerous floors or skip floors with poor ore distribution. Each staircase costs 99 Stone to craft.
When to Use Staircases
Not all floors are worth spending a staircase on. Here is a guide for the best floors to use or save staircases:
| Floor | Recommendation | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| 1-5 | Walk through | Easy floors, break rocks for potential ladder. Save staircases. |
| 6-9 | Use if no ladder found | Low-value floors, not worth spending time. |
| 10+ | Start considering staircase use | If a floor has no ladder after 30 seconds, use a staircase. |
| 25-29 | Use staircases freely | Transition zone with mediocre ore. Push to floor 30+. |
| 30-49 | Use if stuck or infested | Mummy floors can be dangerous and time-consuming. |
| 50-74 | Use sparingly | Iridium starts appearing. Consider mining if nodes are present. |
| 75-94 | Mine if good nodes, skip if bad | Iridium is common. Only skip floors with no iridium nodes. |
| 95-119 | Save staircases for bad layouts | Excellent iridium floors. Mine everything. |
| 120+ | Mine aggressively | Maximum iridium density. Only use stairs for monster-infested floors with no nodes. |
Staircase + Lucky Lunch + Spicy Eel Combo
This is the most powerful combination for deep Skull Cavern runs:
- Lucky Lunch (+3 Luck): Increases the chance of finding ladders, treasure rooms, and ore nodes.
- Spicy Eel (+1 Luck, +1 Speed, +50 max energy): Additional luck plus speed and energy.
- Combined Luck bonus: +4 Luck total, which significantly increases ladder spawn rates and treasure room frequency.
With +4 Luck, you will find ladders much more frequently from breaking rocks, reducing the number of staircases you need to bring. On very lucky days (daily luck bonus), this combo becomes even more powerful.
How Many Staircases to Bring
| Run Type | Recommended Staircases | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Quick floor 100 run | 30-50 | Used sparingly on early floors |
| Iridium farming run | 10-20 | Save most for getting past 50-80 range |
| Deep mining run (150+) | 50-80 | Need enough to push through monster floors |
| Maximum depth attempt | 80-100 | Use aggressively to descend past dangerous floors |
Bombs vs. Staircases
Bombs are a cheaper alternative to staircases for floor progression. A Cherry Bomb (25 Stone + 1 Copper Ore + 1 Coal) breaks rocks in a small area and has a chance to reveal ladders. A Mega Bomb (50 Stone + 4 Iron Ore + 1 Coal) has a much larger blast radius.
| Method | Cost per Floor | Speed | Reliability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Staircase | 99 Stone | Instant | 100% (guaranteed ladder) |
| Cherry Bomb | 25 Stone + 1 Copper + 1 Coal | Fast (breaks 1 area) | ~50-70% (depends on floor layout) |
| Mega Bomb | 50 Stone + 4 Iron + 1 Coal | Fast (breaks large area) | ~70-90% (large area coverage) |
| Kill monsters | Free | Variable | ~20-40% per monster kill |
| Break rocks | Free | Slow | ~10-20% per rock |
Best practice: Use a combination. Break rocks and kill monsters first to find free ladders. If no ladder appears after 15-20 seconds, use a bomb to clear a large area. If still no ladder, use a staircase. This minimizes resource waste.

- Buy Life Elixirs from the Adventurer’s Guild (1,000g each) or cook them if you have Iridium Ore and Nautilus Shells.
- Always bring more food than you think you need. Running out of food on floor 100+ is a quick way to lose all your progress.
- Lucky Lunch can be bought from the Saloon for 350g — check Gus’s stock each day.
Best Loadouts by Progression
Your gear loadout determines how deep you can go and how efficiently you can farm. Here are recommended loadouts for each stage of the game.
Early Game (Pre-Galaxy Sword)
You have just unlocked the Skull Cavern and are still using basic equipment.

Step-by-Step Descent Strategy
-
Check daily luck: Watch the TV in the morning. Go mining on days when the Fortune Teller says “The spirits are very happy” (best luck) or “The spirits are in good humor” (good luck). Avoid Skull Cavern runs on bad luck days.
-
Eat your buffs before entering: Consume Lucky Lunch, Spicy Eel, and Coffee/Espresso before entering the Skull Cavern. Time this so the buffs are active when you enter.
-
Floors 1-10: Walk through normally. Break rocks to find ladders. These floors are easy and should take less than 5 minutes. Use a staircase only if completely stuck.
-
Floors 10-30: Start using Cherry Bombs to clear large rock areas quickly. If a floor is infested with monsters, use a staircase to skip it. Focus on speed over ore collection.
-
Floors 30-50: Use staircases more aggressively to bypass Mummy floors and monster-heavy layouts. If you find a floor with many Serpents, a Mega Bomb can clear them quickly and potentially reveal a ladder.
-
Floors 50-80: Begin looking for Iridium nodes. If a floor has 3+ Iridium nodes, take 30 seconds to mine them. Otherwise, keep descending. Use staircases for floors with no iridium or dangerous monster combinations (e.g., Mummy + Serpent + Shadow Sniper).
-
Floors 80-100: Mine Iridium nodes aggressively. These floors have a good density of Iridium, and Mystic Stones may start appearing (floor 100+). Continue descending when ore is sparse.
-
Floor 100: When you reach floor 100 for the first time (with Secret Note #10 read), a cutscene with Mr. Qi triggers. You receive Iridium Snake Milk, which permanently increases your max health by 25.
Mr. Qi’s Challenges
Mr. Qi has several challenges related to the Skull Cavern:
| Challenge | Requirement | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Skull Cavern Descent (initial) | Enter the Skull Cavern | 10,000g |
| Floor 100 | Reach floor 100 (fewer than 10 stairs) | “Clever, but not very honorable” (no additional reward beyond Iridium Snake Milk) |
| Floor 100 | Reach floor 100 (10+ stairs) | Same Iridium Snake Milk reward |
| Qi’s Skull Cavern Invasion (1.6) | Reach floor 100 in a single run (special quest) | Special rewards |
| Dangerous Mines | Reach floor 100 in the Mines | Skull Key is on floor 120, not 100 |
Treasure Rooms
Treasure rooms have a small chance to appear on any Skull Cavern floor. They contain a treasure chest with valuable items.
| Possible Treasure | Rarity | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Iridium Ore (5-20) | Common | 2,000-8,000g |
| Prismatic Shard | Very Rare | Used for Galaxy weapons, Galaxy Soul |
| Auto-Grabber | Rare | 25,000g value, automatically collects animal products |
| Coffee Maker | Rare | Automatically produces Coffee daily |
| Hopper | Rare | Automatically loads machines |
| Gold Bar (1-5) | Common | 250-1,250g |
| Iridium Bar (1-3) | Uncommon | 1,000-3,000g |
| Diamond (1-5) | Uncommon | 750-3,750g |
| Rabbit’s Foot (1-3) | Rare | 565-1,695g |
| Nautilus Shell | Rare | 200g |
| Ancient Fruit (1-5) | Rare | 550-2,750g |
| Starfruit (1-5) | Uncommon | 750-3,750g |
Higher luck increases the chance of treasure rooms appearing and the quality of loot inside them. On very lucky days with +4 Luck from food, you might see 2-3 treasure rooms in a single run.
Iridium Farming Strategy
Method 1: Deep Descent Mining (Floor 150+)
The most efficient method for experienced players.
- Bring 50-80 staircases and 20-30 Mega Bombs.
- Use staircases to quickly reach floor 150+.
- Mine every Iridium Node and Mystic Stone you find.
- Use Mega Bombs to clear rock clusters and reveal more nodes.
- Continue until energy or food runs low.
- Return to farm, sell ore, restock, and repeat.
Expected yield: 50-200 Iridium Ore per run (depending on depth and time spent mining).
Method 2: Mid-Range Farming (Floor 80-120)
For players who cannot afford 80 staircases per run.
- Bring 20-30 staircases and 20 Cherry Bombs.
- Descend to floor 80-100 using a mix of ladders and staircases.
- Mine all Iridium Nodes on floors 80-120.
- Use staircases to skip floors with no iridium.
- Descend deeper if you have remaining staircases.
Expected yield: 20-80 Iridium Ore per run.
Method 3: Mr. Qi’s Walnut Room Purchases
For players with excess Qi Gems.
- Complete Mr. Qi’s challenges to earn Qi Gems.
- Buy Iridium Ore from Mr. Qi’s Walnut Room (10 Qi Gems each).
- This is not time-efficient for large quantities but is useful for small top-ups.
Skull Cavern Tips and Tricks
General Tips
- Always carry a Warp Totem: Farm or the Return Scepter. If you are about to pass out, warp home to avoid losing items and gold.
- Save before entering on days with bad luck. You can reload the day and try again with different luck.
- The Statue of True Perfection (from Mr. Qi, 10 Qi Gems) gives 2-3 Iridium Ore per day. Not Skull Cavern-related, but a nice passive Iridium source.
- The mastery perk (1.6 update) “Cave Patel” increases the chance of finding ladders, making Skull Cavern runs more efficient.
- Monster slaying quests from the Adventurer’s Guild often target Skull Cavern monsters. Complete these while farming for bonus gold.
Combat Tips
- Mummies: Always carry bombs specifically for Mummies. A Cherry Bomb instantly destroys a knocked-down Mummy. Alternatively, use the Crusader enchantment.
- Iridium Bats: These are the hardest enemies to hit due to their speed. Use weapons with wide swing arcs. The Galaxy Dagger is excellent against bats due to its fast attack speed.
- Shadow Snipers: Kill these first when they appear alongside other enemies. Their ranged attacks can chip away your health while you fight melee enemies.
- Pepper Rex: Avoid if possible. With 350 HP and 40 damage, they are not worth the time investment. Use bombs to damage them from a safe distance.
- Infested floors: On infested floors, monsters spawn rapidly. Use Mega Bombs to clear waves quickly, or use a staircase to skip the floor entirely.
Efficiency Tips
- Time your entry: Enter the Skull Cavern at 6:10 AM (after watching TV and eating buffs) for maximum time. You can stay until 2:00 AM, giving you nearly 20 in-game hours.
- Use the Desert Warp Totem to return to the desert instead of taking the bus. It saves 500g and the travel time.
- Mine every rock on ladder floors: If a floor has a visible ladder, mine all remaining rocks before descending. You might find ore or a second ladder for extra floor skips.
- Pause on treasure floors: Always check treasure rooms and shafts (mine shafts that drop you 3-10 floors). Mine shafts are free descent and may drop you into an area with Iridium nodes.
- Track your staircases: Count your remaining staircases and adjust your strategy. If you have 10 stairs left and are on floor 100, use them wisely to reach floor 150+ where iridium is most dense.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is There an Elevator in the Skull Cavern?
No. Unlike the regular Mines, the Skull Cavern has no elevator. You always start from floor 1 every time you enter. This is why staircases are so important — they are the only way to guarantee descent through floors that do not have easily accessible ladders.
How Can I Quickly Obtain a Large Amount of Iridium Ore?
The three most efficient methods are: (1) Craft staircases and descend to floor 150+, where Iridium nodes are abundant. Mine everything with your Iridium Pickaxe. (2) Kill Iridium Bats, Iridium Crabs, and Purple Slimes, which have a chance to drop Iridium Ore. (3) Use bombs on floors with dense Iridium node clusters to break multiple nodes at once.
Can I Craft Staircases Inside the Skull Cavern?
Yes. Staircases require 99 Stone each. You can craft them anywhere, including inside the Skull Cavern. If you run out of staircases mid-run but have excess stone, you can craft more on the spot. It is recommended to bring a stack of 99 stone specifically for emergency staircase crafting.
How Do I Defeat Mummies?
Mummies have a unique mechanic: when you reduce their HP to 0, they collapse but do not die. After a few seconds, they revive at full HP. To permanently kill a Mummy, you must destroy the collapsed body by using a bomb (Cherry Bomb or Mega Bomb) or by using a weapon with the Crusader enchantment, which deals double damage to undead and kills Mummies in a single hit. Without bombs or Crusader, Mummies are effectively immortal.
What Is the Best Weapon for the Skull Cavern?
The Infinity Blade is the best weapon in the game, offering the highest base damage and attack speed. It is obtained by combining the Galaxy Sword with 3 Galaxy Souls at the Forge on Ginger Island. If you do not have the Infinity Blade yet, the Galaxy Sword is the next best option. For specific strategies, the Galaxy Dagger with Vampiric enchantment is excellent for sustained runs due to its fast attack speed and healing.
How Important Is Luck?
Luck is extremely important in the Skull Cavern. Higher luck increases: the chance of finding ladders when breaking rocks, the chance of treasure rooms appearing, the quality of treasure room loot, the chance of mine shafts (free multi-floor descent), and the chance of monsters dropping rare items. A +4 Luck setup (Lucky Lunch + Spicy Eel) combined with a very lucky daily fortune can make runs significantly more profitable.
Should I Focus on Descending or Mining?
It depends on your current floor. On floors 1-50, always focus on descending — the ore is not worth your time. On floors 50-80, start mining Iridium Nodes if you see them, but keep descending if a floor has no ore. On floors 80+, mine aggressively — the Iridium density is high enough that stopping to mine is more profitable than pushing deeper with limited time.
What Happens If I Pass Out?
If you pass out in the Skull Cavern at 2:00 AM, you will wake up in your bed. You lose up to 2,500g (the game takes money from your wallet) and a random selection of items from your inventory. With the Museum membership reward (complete all Museum donations), the gold penalty is removed. To avoid passing out, keep an eye on the time and use a Warp Totem: Farm or the Return Scepter to return home before 2:00 AM.
