Tapper Guide
The Tapper is an important piece of equipment in Stardew Valley that can collect tree sap products from Maple Trees, Oak Trees, and Pine Trees. These products are essential materials for many recipes and artisan goods.
How to Craft
- Unlock Requirement: Foraging Level 4 (changed from Level 3 in version 1.6)
- Crafting Materials: 40 Wood + 2 Copper Bars
How to Use
- Craft a Tapper.
- Place the Tapper on a mature Maple Tree, Oak Tree, or Pine Tree.
- Wait for a period of time, and the Tapper will automatically produce the corresponding product.
- Click on the Tapper to collect the product after it is produced.
Note: Tappers can only be placed on mature trees (not saplings or stumps).

Planting Locations
- Farm edges: Do not occupy farming space.
- Train Station area: Large open space.
- Quarry: Idle area.

Collection Efficiency
- Only one Tapper can be placed per tree.
- It is recommended to plant at least 20 of each tree type to ensure stable production.
- Trees do not grow in Winter, but Tappers still work.
Use Priority
Oak Resin (Highest Priority)
Oak Resin is an essential material for crafting Kegs, and Kegs are one of the most profitable pieces of equipment in the late game. It is recommended to prioritize ensuring the supply of Oak Resin.
Maple Syrup (Second Priority)
Maple Syrup is used for crafting Bee Houses and Farm Obelisks, and is also required for Community Center bundles.
Pine Tar (Third Priority)
Pine Tar is used for Looms and Rain Totems, with relatively low demand.
Useful Tips
Early Preparation
- Start planting trees early in the game to prepare for the late game.
- Keep wild trees on the farm edges and place Tappers directly on them.
- Winter is a good time to plant trees (no watering required).
Batch Management
- Place Tappers on the same type of tree together for easy collection.
