Giant Stump Guide
Overview
The Giant Stump is a new location introduced in Stardew Valley 1.6. It appears in Cindersap Forest after a strong wind storm event. The stump becomes home to a family of raccoons who offer the player a series of quests with unique rewards.
How to Unlock
- Progress through the game until a strong wind storm occurs (random event).
- After the storm, check Cindersap Forest for the newly fallen Giant Stump.
- Approach the stump to meet the raccoons and begin their questline.
Raccoon Quests
The raccoon family will ask for various items over multiple quests:
Quest 1
- Typically requests common forageables or crops.
- Reward: Friendship and small items.
Quest 2
- Requests slightly rarer items.
- Reward: Better items, possibly seeds or forageables.
Quest 3
- May request crafted items or specific fish.
- Reward: Unique items or resources.
Quest 4+
- Later quests may request more difficult-to-obtain items.
- Rewards include rare seeds, forageables, and other valuable items.
Rewards
Completing raccoon quests provides:
- Unique items not obtainable elsewhere.
- Rare seeds and forageables.
- Resources like hardwood and moss.
- Progress toward 100% completion.
Tips
- The strong wind storm is a random event; check the forest regularly in later years.
- Keep a variety of items in storage to quickly fulfill raccoon requests.
- The quests are optional but provide valuable rewards.
- The Giant Stump remains in the forest permanently after appearing.
